Camping
The Blue Ridge Center offers several camping options, ranging from remote sites to vast fields capable of handling Scout Camporees and other large groups.
Please note that camping is open to the public, but by reservation only. In addition to a nominal camping fee, we encourage all overnight visitors to join our Friends program, which provides the funding to maintain our property.
To make camping reservations, please contact us at info@blueridgecenter.org.
Demory Field
Demory Field is the Blue Ridge Center's main camping area (for up to 80 campers) at the heart of the property. Views from the campsite extend over a meadow and down the Between The Hills valley toward the Potomac River. Demory Field offers potable water, a fire pit, grills, picnic tables, a lean-to, and a large pavilion. Bathrooms and showers are located at the nearby Education Center.
Sawmill Field
The campground is in a large open field on the southern edge of the Blue Ridge Center near Sawmill Lane. With space for over 400 campers, this field is the perfect location for large outings, such as Boy Scout Camporees. The campsite at Sawmill Field connects to the Butterfly Alley trail, provides a connection to the Appalachian Trail, and lies just a short walk from scenic Gordon Pond.
