Birding Class for Children and their Families

Is your child interested in nature? Are they excited to see birds at your feeders or out in wild places?

Sign up for this free program and help them learn to identify the different bird species they see!

Join Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy for this free beginners birding class consisting of two sessions (Nov 8 and 15) to learn about local birds and how to identify them.

This class is geared, but not limited, towards youngsters 8-12 and their families.

The two, two hour sessions (9:30-11:30) will help individuals develop the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary for participating on bird walks and surveys-or to start a new individual pastime (birding).

The class will focus on identification skills, binocular use and choice, field guides and other accessories to improve one's birding experiences.

Class is being held at the Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship at 11661 Harpers Ferry Road, Rte 671 (near Purcellville); detailed directions at

Some binoculars will be available for use during class. Space is limited.
