Come take part in this family-oriented course with a special discount for youth ages 13-18!  The course will teach participants how to enter the delicious world of foraging their own wild food right off the landscape, just like our ancestors once did. The course is an easy, comfortable walk through the different habitats of the Blue Ridge Center property.  After participating in this course you’ll go home with the knowledge to safely identify about 20 wild edible plants, trees and shrubs of the season, identify harmful plants to avoid, identify whether the plant is native or introduced, and employ conservation techniques to ensure that there is plenty for future generations.  Each participant receives a copy of the Earth Connection wild edible plant guide with full color photos and plant information, created specifically for this class.  This book is only available by taking this course. 

Tim MacWelch is the founder of Earth Connection: School of Wilderness Survival and Ancient Skills near Fredericksburg, VA.  Tim has been an avid practicioner of survival and outdoor skills for over 23 years. Tim and his wilderness school have been featured by Good Morning America and National Geographic and in publications such as Conde Nast Traveller and the Washington Post.
