MEET THE FARMERS

Mountain View Farm is managed by Attila Agoston and Shawna Dewitt,who have been farming here since 2005.  They came to BRCES from a farm on Orcas Island in Washington State, where they had gained experience in sustainable agriculture. 

Over the past five years, Shawna and Attila have been working hard to improve the soil and develop the farm.  They have also added some perennial plants to the garden and have increased the amount of acreage that's under cultivation. 

What they like about being here:

Attila:  "This place is our home, and it has a sublime character -- from the farm to the woods."

Shawna:  "It's thrilling to walk to the garden with our kids and eat freshly picked carrots and plums."
