BRCES Nature Day Camp 2017
Friends and volunteers of the Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship will be leading a week-long nature day camp
June 12 -16, 2017
Leaders are naturalists and teachers who have done our mini camps for the past two years, and have extensive experience in education and day camp activities.
This camp will be for students ages 8 through 11 who have a real interest in the natural world. Space will be limited to a maximum of 20 campers. Camp will provide hands-on experiences and include daily exploration hikes, nature oriented games, recording the experience (journaling time) and lots of fun.
Day Camp will be from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm daily.
Cost is $75.00 per individual for the entire week.
Tentative Weekly schedule:
Monday June 12: Nature Journaling, Art in Nature.
Tuesday June 13: Birds and birding/ Building habitat/shelters
Wednesday June 14: Sustainable Farming (vegetables, fruits and animals)
Thursday June 15: Insects and their relatives
Friday June 16: Water and the critters that live in it.
NOTE: Campers will receive more specific information on what to bring, what to expect, health and photo release forms etc. once they are registered.
Registration is required. Space is limited to a maximum of 20 campers.
Location: BRCES, 11661 Harpers Ferry Rd, Purcellville, VA 20132. Meet at the Education Center promptly at 9am each day.
