Nature Bird walks, starry night storytelling, butterfly and wildflower trails there are many ways to experience nature at the Blue Ridge Center. Plants and AnimalsWe've identified 130 species of birds, 60 species of butterflies, and you can walk the trails looking for signs of fox and bobcat. Whatever your interest, be it wildflowers or salamanders, the Blue Ridge Center has a rich diversity of flora & fauna to discover. Geology, Land, Water, WeatherIt's all here at the Center and we measure it, catalogue it, dig it up and wade in it. We welcome your interest and participation in many of the ongoing projects that involve the landscape at the Center. Volunteer VacationsBring your child or grandchild for a week of camping, stream cleanup, farm animal tending and other trail maintenance work. We supply the food – you supply the muscle power and the fun. Sponsored by American Hiking Society.
