SUMMARY OF FINDINGS
Animals on the property are typical of those generally found within recovering mixed mesophytic Blue Ridge forests. The white footed mouse, eastern chipmunk, gray squirrel, and eastern cottontail number among the smaller species, with raccoon, and white-tailed deer among the larger. Evidence also suggests that the land supports fox and coyote, and bobcats have been sited in neighboring areas.

STUDIES TO DATE
We're conducting an ongoing survey of mammals on the property. While the primary goal of this survey is to identify major habitat types and vegetation varieties on the 900 acre parcel, animal varieties found within these habitat types also are being listed. Student researchers are utilizing casual observation of mammals and their signs.
